Textile Weave : Ikkat involves a unique process of dyeing the threads before weaving them into a fabric with intricate patterns.

An apparent ‘blurriness’ in the design caused due to manual lining of dyed yarns into pre planned fabric patterns is unique to Ikkat.

Ikkats may be either warp Ikkat, weft Ikkat or double Ikkat. In warp Ikkat, longer threads are dyed, in weft the perpendicular threads and in double Ikkat, both the threads are dyed.
